Southwark Community Voices have received a National Lottery grant of £9,900 from The Heritage Lottery Fund to begin work on a new documentary “The End of an Era: Women and Work post-WWII in Bermondsey and Rotherhithe”.
Do You Have a Story to Tell?
They are also keen to talk to people who have stories, photographs and films about women family members who worked in one or the factories in the area before the dock closures resulted in them closing down and relocating. We are also looking for general archive photographs and footage (film or video) to accompany interviews.
Can you help?
Southwark Community Voices are looking for community volunteers to come and work with us on the project, helping us source interviewees and archives.
Building on Success
This project follows on from their successful film project, “Southwark Voices”, which looked at the history of Bermondsey pre and post WWII in a general way.
