Bermondsey Street Festival 2014 returns on Saturday 20th September bigger and better than ever. Bermondsey’s annual village fete is full of treats including live music, tasty food, kid’s entertainment, and even the unveiling of a community created sculpture. Round the day off with the delights of the decadent night market in Bermondsey Square.
‘Bermondsey’s Own VC’, Fred Holmes, is to be honoured with a commemorative paving stone marking his birth place on Abbey Street outside what is now the Bermondsey Square Hotel. The event forms part of the activities to mark the start of the First World War in 1914.
The StockMKT are bringing the spirit of Brazilian carnival to Bermondsey Square on 12 July from 4pm to 10pm. We’re not talking feathers, beads and bristols-flashing (we’re a family-affair after all) but there WILL be dancing, live music and DJs.
